Join our innovative School of Creative Industries to develop, extend and refine industry focused skills across a multitude of creative disciplines, including: Creative Media, Film & TV, Costume Construction, Prop-Making, Production Arts (Media Make-up), Art and Design, Photography, Music and Performing Arts.

Relevant staff with extensive industry experience will guide and nurture your development of in-demand, practical, creative and performance skills, providing you with the confidence to progress to Higher Education or a career in an expanding local creative sector.

Housing state of the art, specialist facilities, across our Aberdare, Rhondda and Nantgarw campuses, we can provide a learning environment specifically designed to offer you every opportunity to explore and develop your creativity utilising resources classed as “industry standard”.

The School, with its professional ethos, passionate staff and relevant industry links, has a rich history of producing award-winning learners and creating employment opportunities for learners across the provision.

What we offer

Art and Design

Experience studio facilities for print, 3D and graphic design, fine art and fashion, costume and textiles all supported by industry standard ICT.

Performing Arts

Where students have the luxury of purpose built dance & rehearsal studios with a state of the art technical theatre.

Hair, Media Make-Up and Special Effects

Courses aimed to provide you with working techniques used within the media industry, and develop and expand your portfolio of skills in hair, make-up and special effects for TV and Film.

Media

You can practice your filming, production and editing skills in fully equipped studios and edit suites.

Music Technology

Use the recording and mixing studios as well as live rehearsal and performance facilities.

Photography

Gain practical experience of traditional printing, digital processing and manipulation using the specialist equipment in an amazing photographic suite.

Multimedia

If Multimedia is your thing you will not be disappointed with our suite of Apple Mac computers loaded with software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash plus a long list of editing software.

Costume Construction

You will work on exciting productions with WNO, BBC and Theatre Mappa Mundi designing and making costumes. “There are lots of opportunities at the college and working in industry is a big part of the course and a massive confidence boost.” Emma

Prop Making

Work with materials and processes employed within the industry, such as sculpting, moulding/casting and metal fabrication

Courses run from Level 1 to Level 3 within Further Education, and Level 4 (Foundation Degree/HND) to Level 6 (BA Hons) at Higher Education via niche market franchises with the University of South Wales.

All Level 3 courses enable you to gain the necessary UCAS points to progress to the University of your choice, whilst allowing you to develop a professional portfolio that improves your chances of employment in your chosen field.
